Job Summary:
HTA is a fast pace, full-service, multidisciplinary architectural design firm. We are currently seeking a
Senior Architectural Designer
to join our Residential Team —A dedicated and experienced professional known for integrity and accountability, actively pursuing opportunities for career growth and advancement. The Senior Architectural Designer will oversee all phases of assigned residential projects, ensuring that design quality, technical accuracy, and project timelines meet or exceed expectations. This role requires deep expertise in New York City zoning and building codes, ability to manage design team, and the ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage multiple residential projects simultaneously.
Skilled in identifying project needs, setting goals, and successfully delivering results.
Strong ability to communicate with clients and project teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Skilled in reviewing and identifying design issues and collaborating with the team to develop effective solutions.
Perform zoning analyses, FAR calculations, and massing studies to guide design decisions.
Oversee and resolve
Department of Buildings (DOB)
objections efficiently, ensuring a smooth approval process.
Lead design teams and facilitate collaboration to address and resolve design and construction issues.
Conduct site visits (as needed) to monitor construction quality, resolve field issues, and ensure design intent is realized.
Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements and company standards for safety, performance, and aesthetics.
Maintain professional relationships with clients, providing design solutions that align with their project vision and needs.
Represent HT Associates professionally in all client, consultant, and agency interactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
Minimum
5 years of working experience .
Extensive knowledge of
NYC Zoning Code
and
NYC Building Code .
Strong background in
single- and two-family new building (NB) and enlargement design .
Strong background in
Class II & V building systems Design.
Knowledge of NYC Alt-CO and NB procedures and adjacent agency requirements.
Strong proficiency in
AutoCAD/
Revit , and other design and coordination tools.
Class II Filing Representative
credential is a plus.
Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to lead design teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
Fluency in
Mandarin or Cantonese
is a plus.
