Design Strategies, LLC , an award-winning Architectural and Engineering firm located in Greenville, SC, focusing on Corporate/Commercial and specialized Healthcare Planning and Design, is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to join our firm. This position’s primary function is to create computer-aided design drawings for architecture projects and features under limited supervision of a Project Architect for healthcare, commercial, and institutional facilities.
We are looking for someone who is professional, diplomatic, and mature with a positive can‑do attitude and a genuine love for providing top‑notch customer service both internally and externally. This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) position with a Monday‑Friday schedule, with Friday as a half‑day ending at noon.
Responsibilities
Completes working drawings, design sketches, presentation drawings, diagrams, schedules, and other computer‑aided documents from prepared drawings (sketches, markups, red lines, etc.) as required on a project.
Works under minimal supervision to prepare finished bid and permit drawings from complex sketches, notes, layouts, details, and verbal instructions from Project Architect.
Creates Revit architectural plans (site, floor, roof and reflected ceiling), interior and exterior elevations, building sections, details, and schedules.
Applies knowledge of architectural and engineering symbols, abbreviations, and graphic standards.
Suggests and/or develops additions or proposes changes to the existing Revit library of the discipline; utilizes the library effectively to maintain a high level of productivity.
Provides training or assistance to less experienced technicians to help them resolve difficult operating tasks or drawing production problems.
Organizes layout and coordinates Revit documents, performing design tasks within the discipline and checking drawings for quality assurance.
Completes assignments efficiently and on time as required by the Project Architect.
Uses architectural/engineering design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
Prepares design calculations as required and learns company design standards.
Participates throughout a project and may act as a backup for other teams as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma mandatory.
Associate in Applied Science Degree in Drafting/Computer Aided Design or related post‑high school training required; four‑year Bachelor of Science or Architecture/Engineering Technology degree preferred.
Ten (10) or more years of design experience preferred; healthcare experience preferred.
Demonstrated quality and accurate computer-aided design skills with accuracy, quality, completeness, and schedule adherence maintained independently at this level of experience.
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; fully experienced designers can perform any assignment quickly and accurately.
Must be a U.S. citizen and have a valid driver’s license.
