Job Title: CAD Designer
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer with strong SolidWorks experience to develop 2D and 3D drawings from sketches, notes, or specifications. The ideal candidate will apply engineering knowledge and CAD skills to support design modifications, documentation, and production processes for a growing manufacturer of custom industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
Create detailed part and assembly drawings from rough sketches or design notes.
Use SolidWorks to build, revise, and finalize models and drawings.
Calculate dimensions and convert design specifications for manufacturing.
Collaborate with Project Managers to incorporate updates and changes.
Ensure drawings clearly show dimensions, materials, and assembly details.
Complete Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for review and approval.
Follow ISO 9001 standards and internal documentation procedures.
Revise and adjust designs as needed based on feedback or production needs.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Associate’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a similar field.
Minimum of 1 year of hands‑on experience.
Strong 3D modeling skills, preferably for custom machinery.
Design experience using SolidWorks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to calculate dimensions, areas, volumes, and apply basic algebra/geometry.
Work Environment The family‑owned company offers a 65‑person facility. The workflow is SolidWorks‑based, involving both 2D and 3D design. The environment is casual, collaborative, and hands‑on, fostering long‑term careers and a tight‑knit culture. Employees are valued, and some have been with the company for over 40 years.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
