The
HVAC Designer
will be a key contributor on a collaborative MEP design team, working alongside senior mechanical engineers and project managers on both renovation and new construction projects. This role involves drafting, design, and coordination of HVAC systems for diverse building types, including commercial, multi-tenant residential, institutional, healthcare, and educational facilities. This position offers significant growth potential, exposure to high-impact projects, and flexibility to work remotely or from any IPD office. Key Responsibilities
Draft
HVAC construction drawings , including details, plans, and sections. Perform
HVAC load and energy calculations
to support system design. Design HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, and residential projects. Select appropriate
HVAC equipment
and ensure design accuracy. Develop and coordinate
construction documents
using AutoCAD and Revit. Collaborate with other MEP engineers and architectural teams to ensure integration. Prepare
equipment schedules, specifications, and system details . Participate in design discussions and implement
sustainable strategies . Ensure project deliverables align with company quality standards and client expectations. Support senior engineers with
project documentation, code research, and performance analysis . Qualifications
Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or
Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) . Minimum
5 years of HVAC design experience
in a consulting engineering environment. Strong proficiency in
AutoCAD and/or Revit
required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. PE license not required
(EIT or path to licensure a plus). Solid understanding of
mechanical systems, energy modeling, and building codes . Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
