The AI software framework group is responsible for developing all AI framework components—from kernel (such as matrix multiplication) to higher‑level frameworks (such as inference engines). The group works closely with other Intel teams to deliver an end‑to‑end software stack for Intel hardware. In this position you will prototype, develop GPU kernels, integrate them into AI frameworks, and optimize them for Intel hardware platforms.
Responsibilities
Develop complex code with C++ templates for optimal GPU kernels.
Understand PyTorch or similar framework usage of AI kernels and design the interfaces.
Interact with partner teams to understand requirements and convert them to tangible action items for development.
Develop architectural documents to guide the larger team.
Behavioral Traits

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience, or Master’s degree and 4+ years’ experience, or Ph.D. and 2+ years’ experience in one of the following: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, or related technical disciplines.
3+ years of experience in complex C++ template‑based development (such as meta‑level programming).
2+ years’ experience with GPU architecture.
2+ years’ experience with SYCL / CUDA.
1+ year’s experience with GEMM kernels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in AI kernel development (e.g., flash attention, MoE).
Understanding of the overall AI software stack.
Understanding of PyTorch architecture.

Annual Salary Range (U.S.): $188,700.00 – $335,680.00 USD. The range displayed on this posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all U.S. locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
