Library Assistant

The Orem Public Library is currently hiring for a part-time, non-benefited Library Assistant to work in the Adult/Teen Reference and Media areas of the Library. This position provides general and in-depth reference and advisory service to library patrons, assists and instructs patrons in the use of library resources, including digital media, at the reference desks and over the phone. Library Assistants will also perform bibliographic research and data entry, as well as a variety of clerical duties such as typing reports and minutes, answering phones, and scheduling study rooms and book group reservations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with the public, with an ability to deliver a high standard of service, even in stressful situations. This position will also be responsible for issuing library cards, handling money, and working with patrons regarding overdue accounts. Performs other duties as assigned.
