About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Structural Designer (Tekla) to join a major infrastructure and defense project in Ogden, UT. You’ll be supporting the design and detailing of complex steel and concrete structures for a large-scale modernization program that’s vital to national security. This is an onsite, full-time position working within a top-tier engineering and construction environment.
What You’ll Do
Develop detailed drawings and documentation for steel, concrete, and reinforcing steel structures
Lead and check complex structural designs using Tekla
Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure smooth project delivery
Participate in technical discussions, constructability reviews, and vendor coordination
Review existing conditions, as-builts, and integrate vendor data into design solutions
Mentor junior designers and support their professional growth
Support estimates, take-offs, and project change documentation
What We’re Looking For
Experience Levels:
Level I: Bachelor’s + 5–8 years (or 9–12 years without degree)
Level II: Bachelor’s + 8–10 years (or 12–14 years without degree)
Must-Haves:
Proficiency with Tekla and experience detailing steel and reinforced concrete
Strong understanding of AISC, ACI, and BIM practices
Ability to independently design and detail complex structures
Solid communication and collaboration skills
U.S. Citizenship (background check and drug screen required)
Nice-to-Haves:
Active security clearance
Experience with DoD or USACE projects
Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria and Whole Building Design Guide standards
