Overview The Technical Writer produces high‑quality instructions and software messaging for laboratory diagnostics professionals. The role requires working independently within an agile Scrum framework while collaborating with product line leads, subject‑matter experts, and project managers. Responsibilities Develop new content and revise existing operator guides, online help, software UI messages, and other documentation. Maintain content reuse and single‑sourcing principles across documents. Work with cross‑functional teams to understand product, tools, and processes. Ensure documents comply with regulatory, company guidelines, and good documentation practices. Participate in end‑to‑end document management protocols (check‑in/check‑out, version control, review, approval, release). Competencies and Key Skills Strong collaboration with Product Line Leads, other Technical Writers, and SMEs. Analysis and interpretation of engineering and scientific specifications. Proactive problem‑solving and critical thinking. Experience with XML authoring tools (preferred) or Adobe FrameMaker/Adobe InDesign. Knowledge of medical device regulations and relevant international standards. Basic understanding of good documentation practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency with business applications (document control, word processing, spreadsheets, databases). Highly organized, capable of prioritizing tasks and collaborating remotely. Education Technical Writing Certification (preferred) or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, business, science, engineering, software, or a related field. Experience Minimum five (5) years of technical writing in a medical device manufacturing or similar environment. Expertise with current versions of authoring tools, including XML‑based content management and Adobe FrameMaker (intermediate level).
