Arrowhead Winch engineers and manufactures industrial winch, hoist and drive systems under the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brand names in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Design Drafter Position Overview: Works closely with engineers, preparing and reviewing drawings and layouts of components and systems, and may contribute to engineering change control processes.

Design Drafter Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares drawings and production release documentation
  • Peer reviews drawings and production release documentation
  • Reviews engineering requests for completeness and appropriateness
  • Prepares layouts and designs which often require use of involved descriptive geometry and trigonometry
  • Works with engineers to develop new products and revise existing products
  • Suggests dimensioning and tolerancing schemes
  • Plans and carries out special related assignments or investigations as directed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • May process / coordinate engineering change documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Design Drafter Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferably supplemented by technical training school
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling in CAD
  • Working knowledge of standard drafting practices
  • Working knowledge of descriptive geometry and trigonometry
  • Working knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ASME Y14.5
Design Drafter Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability gained through 7 or more years of experience in related assignments
  • Experience with Creo and Windchill
  • Experience managing an Engineering Change Request / Notice Process (ECN)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Requires frequent standing and walking on concrete floors. Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and grab parts and inspect machinery. Must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires mobility around heavy machinery, forklifts, and loud noise. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
