Position Overview
The William and Anita Newman Library serves over 19,700 students and staff from Baruch College communities. As a College Assistant, you will provide front‑line service, support library operations, and contribute to projects across the library and Technology Center.
What The Role Involves
- Deliver exceptional front‑line service at circulation and technology service desks.
- Assist with technical operations, library circulation, information services, and material maintenance.
- Support library projects and initiatives, ensuring lending operates smoothly.
- Provide administrative support: screening visitors, handling calls, relaying messages, and organizing documents.
- Work evening and weekend shifts, keeping the library open during all operating hours.
- Answer inquiries via email, phone, or in person, and enforce library policies.
- Use Alma, the library management system, for circulation and technology service tasks.
- Help with routine clerical work such as shelving books and data entry.
