About the Role

The South Bend Tribune is recruiting a business, development and dining reporter in South Bend, Indiana. The ideal candidate will become the recognized expert in growth and development in the South Bend region, with a keen interest in the vibrant local food and dining scene. You should be a great storyteller who will tell several stories a week, collaborating to incorporate video and other visual ideas as well as words. You should be interested in both personal stories and overarching trends, and be ready to quickly turn breaking stories while developing enterprise stories in the background. You should be adept at source development, digital tools, public records, and have a digital‑first mindset.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Digital‑first mindset
• Demonstrated skill for a range of storytelling, from real‑time digital updates to narratives to investigative reporting, employing alternative story forms and multimedia
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Flexibility and collaborative mindset
• Experience using AI and automation to enhance journalism
