Responsibilities
Attend project turnover meetings with design supervisor, project manager and field superintendent.
Use AutoSprink, AutoCAD and related tools to create fire sprinkler design drawings and submittal packages within system specifications, costs and planning limits.
Prepare submittal documents and applications for permits.
Detail all views and dimensions necessary for installation.
Coordinate BIM modeling using Navisworks and Revit.
Stock list and purchase all material for projects.
Maintain project drawing files, associated records and documentation in an orderly condition.
Develop and maintain an updated library of symbols & drawings (templates) for future projects.
Develop spreadsheets and other tools to improve drawing quality while decreasing time required on standard tasks.
Operate large plotter, scanner and reproduction equipment.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of fire sprinkler design experience utilizing CAD or AutoSprink software.
Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
Proficient with all basic computer skills and computer software applications including MS Office & AutoCAD 2018 or higher.
Proficient in reading and understanding architectural, electrical and mechanical layouts and diagrams.
Basic working knowledge of fire alarm related electronics, codes and practices.
Thorough working knowledge of NFPA codes & standards.
Strong ability to follow directions given by supervisor to develop/design drawings.
Good driving record with valid driver’s license.
Fire certifications a plus.
NICET certification a plus.
