Christine Costa Interiors
Intermediate Interior Designer
Christine Costa Interiors, Redondo Beach, California, United States, 90278
Christine Costa Interiors is a boutique residential and commercial interior design studio based in Redondo Beach, CA, with projects throughout Los Angeles and beyond. We are currently seeking a mid‑level Interior Designer with strong experience working in a full‑service capacity on down‑to‑the‑studs renovations, new construction, and major home renovations. The position will work fluidly across architectural interior design and FF&E, with an emphasis on design development and detailing. We are looking for someone with a strong AutoCAD and construction documentation background who will play a central role on our design team in bringing projects to life from concept to installation.
We are a small, close‑knit team. The ideal candidate would bring creativity, a deep understanding of architectural and decorative arts history, and a highly detailed eye. 4‑7 years of experience working in interior design or interior architecture, with an understanding of residential construction and project implementation phases, is required.
The right person will be both conceptual and detail‑oriented, and will interact with team members, clients, vendors, and trades with grace, patience, and kindness.
Full time, hourly 30‑40 hours per week
Location:
Redondo Beach, CA. Must be able to work from our Redondo Beach offices.
Core Responsibilities
Play a core role in residential renovations, design, and decoration projects from concept to installation.
Create and present client‑facing design presentations, material palettes, and pricing proposals.
Manage and implement creation of technical drawings in AutoCAD, including as‑built, space plans, electrical and finish plans, millwork and cabinetry detailing, construction set detailing, and specification schedules.
Research, source, and specify hard finishes, fixtures, hardware, and accessories that create cohesive concept‑driven designs.
Conduct site visits, implement construction documentation changes, and serve as an advocate for the studio’s design intent and client support during onsite project meetings.
Review architectural plans, cabinet shop drawings, window and door orders, etc., to ensure they align with design intent.
Client & Trade Relations
Serve as point of contact for contractors, trades, and clients, answering onsite construction questions, developing design solutions in partnership with trades, supporting materials procurement and revisions to construction documents throughout the design‑build process.
Regularly communicate with clients, vendors, and trades, acting as a consummate professional who consistently represents the studio and its kind and creative culture.
Schedule client presentations, site walks, vendor meetings, showroom and workroom visits.
Qualifications
4‑7 years of experience.
Extremely strong in AutoCAD, with a full understanding of drawing detailing and documentation.
