ROCm GPU Communication Libraries Engineer – AMD Apply now to join AMD as a Fellow on the ROCm GPU communications team and help build GPU networking solutions that accelerate AI, HPC, and data center workloads.

The Role We are seeking a technical leader to define the vision, architecture, and design of GPU networking and collective communication software. You will identify new technologies, drive high‑priority initiatives, and mentor top‑tier talent while collaborating with senior executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Provide deep technical leadership and guide the technical vision for the GPU communication software stack.

Engage executives and stakeholders to provide insight into industry trends and recommend strategic initiatives, influencing the future direction of the company’s technical portfolio.

Represent AMD in leadership positions at industry organizations and standards bodies.

Engage with clients and partners to understand technical needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Collaborate with hardware and software architects, system engineers, and business teams to identify requirements and build roadmaps for future products.

Mentor engineers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence through coaching, training, and feedback.

The Person Experienced technical leader versed in modern GPU‑based data center technologies, passionate about solving networking and communication problems to scale performance for future workloads.

Preferred Experience

Architecting and developing communication software for accelerators using RDMA, accelerator‑to‑accelerator fabrics, and low‑level device drivers up through applications and AI/ML frameworks.

Deep expertise with distributed programming models (MPI, SHMEM) and optimization of collective communication algorithms.

Strong knowledge of RoCE, RDMA, and network topologies.

Experience developing system software in C/C++ and GPU software and parallel programming.

Analytical and performance analysis skills.

Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Proven history of communication software thought leadership with patents, publications, or industry standards participation.

Academic Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) are preferred.
