Job Details KUT Public Media informs, connects and strengthens the Central Texas community through independent local, regional, national and international news, and transformative music and community storytelling. KUT Public Media is a voice of — and for — the Central Texas community. The Mid-Level Gift Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of current and prospective mid-level members (defined as $750-$2,499), including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and data analysis. Purpose: to expand donor capacity, engagement, and philanthropy, and to create opportunities for donors and prospects to engage with KUT and KUTX’s mission.

Responsibilities

Fundraising: Manage a tiered portfolio of 400-700 current and prospective mid-level members with planned touch points and timely solicitations, prioritizing donor retention and increased giving.

Develop relationships with prospective and current mid-level members via multiple channels (phone, email, personal mail, Zoom, and in-person meetings when appropriate); engage donors through stewardship and cultivation to increase support and meet revenue goals.

Donor Strategy and Stewardship: Maintain electronic documentation (tracking reports); provide regular fundraising and prospect management reports to KUT/KUTX management.

Contribute to donor communications including solicitations, stewardship, donor proposals, and grant applications; participate in development strategies and team meetings.

Monitor fundraising trends and participate in webinars, trainings, or conferences to identify effective new approaches.

General: Attend and participate in relevant KUT/KUTX events; work collaboratively with colleagues; perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Minimum of three years of fundraising/development experience in annual fund, mid-level, or major gifts, including at least one year of portfolio management experience

Experience identifying, qualifying, and cultivating prospective donors

Strong ability to prioritize, manage, and organize multiple projects with deadlines and budgets

Strategic and creative thinking; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple details

Collaborative team player with excellent written and verbal communication

Strong computer skills

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the minimum required years of experience

Working knowledge of Allegiance Software and VIP donor databases

Extensive experience writing fundraising proposals to individuals, foundations, and other grantors

Public broadcasting experience

Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive keyboard use. Occasional travel. Flexible work hours may be required, including evenings, some weekends, and holidays. Background check required for finalist(s).
