Located inside The Mother Ship, PodPlus is growing quickly and building a tight‑knit team of creative pros who thrive on collaboration, precision, and great storytelling.
Role Overview We’re looking for a sharp, organized, and technically skilled Studio Manager / Podcast Producer to oversee daily operations at PodPlus Studios.
This role blends creative direction, studio management, and production execution. You’ll run recording sessions, maintain studio gear, manage scheduling and client logistics, and oversee the editing and delivery process to ensure every piece of content meets PodPlus standards.
The right candidate is both production‑minded and people‑savvy — someone who can balance crisp sound checks and clean edits with great client communication and an eye for storytelling.
Key Responsibilities Studio Operations & Production
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio and video recording equipment (microphones, mixers, cameras, lighting, interfaces, monitors, etc.)
Set up and manage in‑person and remote podcast recording sessions for hosts and guests
Capture, monitor, and deliver high‑quality audio and video during sessions
Edit, mix, and master podcast episodes (cleanup, leveling, EQ, compression, transitions, mastering)
Manage backups, organize media assets, and maintain consistent file workflows
Oversee studio gear inventory, maintenance, and upgrades as needed
Scheduling & Client Experience
Manage the PodPlus studio calendar and coordinate sessions with clients, hosts, and guests
Greet and prep clients upon arrival, ensuring sessions run smoothly and professionally
Communicate timelines, deliverables, and next steps with clients and internal teams
Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and calmly in real time
Creative & Technical Excellence
Maintain brand consistency and quality across all PodPlus productions
Collaborate with the PodPlus and Hype Boss teams on creative direction, show flow, and brand tone
Stay current on podcast, video, and audio trends and tools
Refine internal workflows, checklists, and production templates for efficiency and quality
(Optional / Ideal Add‑Ons)
Assist with podcast publishing (RSS feeds, show notes, metadata, and distribution)
Support short‑form video creation (episode clips, teasers, or highlight reels)
Manage freelance editors, transcribers, or creative contractors
Train and mentor junior producers or interns on editing and studio processes
Qualifications & Requirements
Proficiency in video editing tools
Strong understanding of signal flow, mic technique, and acoustic setup
Familiarity with remote recording platforms (Riverside.fm, SquadCast, Zoom, etc.)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — you’ll work directly with clients, guests, and team members
Strong creative instincts for pacing, flow, and storytelling
Ability to lift and set up studio gear (stands, cables, lights, etc.)
(Preferred) Experience managing a studio environment or production workflow
(Preferred) Knowledge of podcast publishing and distribution platforms
Competitive hourly or salaried pay based on experience
