At Ervin Cable Construction, LLC, as a Senior Drafter Designer, you'll contribute to project teams by developing Outside Plant (OSP) network designs and ensuring compliance with established deliverables and regulations. You'll identify project issues, collaborate with engineering and construction teams, and create supporting documentation, all while working to meet project deadlines effectively.

What you'll do
Participate on project teams and ensure compliance with predetermined project deliverables
Identify and course correct project issues and risks, participate in response plans to resolve issues
Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, i.e.: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
Provide any documentation required for the cost‑effective placement of communication facilities
Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
Other duties as assigned
What you'll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least four years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
Expertise in a drafting software such as AutoCAD is required
Knowledge of
Telecommunications industry standards
Regulations for OSP facilities
Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Building
Government permit requirements
OSP Communications Design systems
Applications such as NDS, FROGS, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset
Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment
Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely : Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
Occasionally : Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
