Communication & Outreach Specialist . Reporting directly to our Communication and Events Operations Manager, the Communication & Outreach Specialist will develop communication content to be distributed through a variety of communication channels to convey the richness and breadth of the opportunities offered by Anderson.

The successful candidate will have a passion and skill for writing, a strong sense of curiosity, and the ability to work well with a team to most effectively promote the activities and opportunities at Anderson.

Responsibilities Specific duties will include:

Write, edit, and review public relations materials for Anderson, to include fact sheets, articles, newsletter content, and speeches.

Working closely with the Communications and Events team and Anderson leadership, develop a library of content to effectively demonstrate the value offered by Anderson.

Conduct interviews and write compelling articles featuring a diverse range of individuals, including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and external collaborators.

Learn and understand the mission of the various programs within Anderson to support their activities through targeted promotional materials and follow‑up articles.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or another related field.

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging content across a range of styles and tones - from technical, data‑driven pieces to human‑interest and inspirational stories.

Strong familiarity with Associated Press writing style.

Strongly developed listening and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated experience working with a team to produce and deliver high‑quality, effective promotional materials.

Experience in media relations, including drafting press releases, managing media inquiries, and building relationships with media outlets.
