Overview
Volunteer: Graphic Design: Children's Coloring Activity Book for Cancer Patients – a role with Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc., provided through Taproot Foundation. The project is to create a 30‑page coloring activity book for children ages 4‑16 who are battling cancer, to be published on Amazon KDP with a launch in March 2026 for an upcoming summer camp. The book tells the true story of Elana, a teen cancer survivor and singer, and is intended to bring comfort, healing, and hope to young patients.
Responsibilities
Create original, age‑appropriate illustrations and accompanying text that flow clearly and maintain a warm, comforting style.
Work within the visual branding guidelines and written copy provided by the foundation.
Collaborate closely with the Koenig Childhood Cancer team throughout the design process.
Deliver all design assets in a format suitable for Amazon KDP publishing.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience illustrating or designing children’s coloring books.
Ability to handle a deeply personal, sensitive project with care and sensitivity.
Portfolio of relevant design work to be presented during the application process.
Commitment Estimated volunteer time: 15‑30 hours spread over 4‑5 weeks.
