(BDS) is seeking an

Experienced Support Multimedia Design Specialist

(Level 3) to join the

Flight Simulator Labs

team in

Berkeley, MO .

This position will support visual database design for flight simulation labs. Day to day activities include developing terrain databases and moving articulated models for flight simulators.

Position Responsibilities

Conceptualizes, creates, designs, and modifies detailed illustrations, graphics, full color animations and interactive electronic media.

Conducts research and analysis of source data or designs to inform illustration and graphics creation.

Guides, instructs, creates and maintains illustration and graphics development standards, processes, and procedures for support engineering products and services.

Maintains and stores illustration and graphics for accessibility.

Ensures product compliance with applicable standards and specifications.

Investigates emerging technologies, techniques, tools, and processes.

Model and texture 3D environment and assets like terrain, props, building exteriors, and vehicles.

Generate terrain mesh from real world satellite data and imagery.

Collaborate closely with engineering teams to establish requirements and expectations.

Analyze and fix problems with 3D models such as with normals, textures, UV maps, edge flow, rendering defects, and other problems found in 3D models.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor’s degree in digital media, animation, art and/or extensive experience in 3D modeling and game environment development

5+ years of related work experience

2+ years of experience with Model Based Engineering Tools such as Maya, 3DX, Blender, CATIA, or other 3D CAD software

2+ years of experience using Unreal Engine

2+ years of experience with 3D Modeling tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

5+ years of experience designing flight simulation or trainer visual databases.

5+ years of experience using the NX CAD system.

Ability to model aircraft, ships, vehicles and structures from engineering data.

Experience with Presagis Software (Creator & TerraVista).

Experience making 3D models optimized for real-time rendering

Experience using GIS (Global Mapper, ENVI or ArcGIS) software for manipulating satellite imagery

Basic knowledge of a coding language

Experience editing images

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.Summary pay range: $83,300 – $112,700
