Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate detailed 3D models of sheet metal systems using BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD Fabrication, Navisworks, etc.).

Review contract documents, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accurate system design and layout.

Lead or assist in clash detection meetings and resolve coordination issues across multiple trades.

Collaborate with project teams to provide constructible, cost‑effective design solutions.

Prepare fabrication and installation drawings, spool sheets, and hanger layouts.

Update and maintain models throughout the project life cycle to reflect as‑built conditions.

Work closely with field foremen and fabrication teams to validate design feasibility and ensure constructability.

Support project schedules and deliverables, ensuring all VDC work meets established deadlines.

Mentor entry‑level designers and provide technical guidance on VDC and trade‑related best practices.

Maintain adherence to TDIndustries’ safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

Minimum

5 years of sheet metal field or trades experience

(installation, fabrication, or layout).

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and trade coordination.

Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills with a focus on collaboration.

Ability to interpret and apply building codes, specifications, and project requirements.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Basic computer literacy.

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Excel.
