Position Overview Marshall University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor/Librarian II – Electronic Resource and Systems Librarian position, a 12‑month track in Library Services, located in Huntington, WV. Job Title and Details Title: Assistant Professor/Librarian II – Electronic Resource and Systems Librarian (Banner Position Number 001645) Classification: Assistant Professor/Librarian II (12‑month track) Department: Library – MU2060 Location: Marshall University, Huntington, WV Salary: $55,000 What You’ll Do Provide leadership in aspects of electronic resources and systems. Contribute innovative ideas and make strategic decisions based on academic program needs. Manage electronic resources including databases, e‑books, and online journals. Troubleshoot access issues and coordinate with IT or vendors to resolve problems. Coordinate trials for new electronic resources in collaboration with other library staff. Extract, analyze, and report data from library systems to support decision‑making. Manage and administer the integrated library system (ILS), including modules for cataloging, acquisitions, and ERM. Perform routine system updates, backups, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. Coordinate the implementation of new software or system upgrades. Participate in campus and university committees. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA‑accredited library school. 2‑5 years of full‑time professional experience in electronic resources/systems within an academic library. Demonstrated experience with integrated library systems and electronic resource management. Strong commitment to public and customer service. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Good information literacy and information technology skills. Preferred Qualifications Second Master’s degree. Experience working with major library vendors and publishers. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Sierra or similar systems. Benefits Work week is 37.5 hours. Almost two weeks off for Winter Break. 13 paid holidays. Annual leave up to 24 days per year and up to 18 days of sick leave per year.
