You will work within our editorial team to grow our features and optimize our curation. You’ll work with our senior editors to identify opportunities to better meet our audience’s needs.
Description
- Drive day-to-day content strategy by collating and sharing curation insights with editors who are programming stories and features across topics and placements (Sports, Top Stories, Local News, Puzzles, Food, Entertainment, and more).
- Perform weekly and monthly reviews on editorial curation, including curated groups, newsletters, editorial notifications (Top Stories, Spotlight, Sports, Audio, Local News, Puzzles, Food) and more.
- Work with editors to turn those performance reports into strategy changes that drive more subscriptions and better engagement from curation.
- Work with engineering and other counterparts to define what data will be most useful for the editorial team to have as self-serve data exports, queries, and metrics.
- Provide editorial insights to the engineering team with the goal of improving the app’s algorithms and personalized content areas.
- Respond to time-sensitive editorial strategy questions.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years experience on an editorial team, preferably at national news organizations
- Experience working in a fast-paced, technology-first newsroom, deep understanding of journalism
- Content strategy and audience development skills (basic data manipulation), proven track record of using insights to drive story and feature level performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on or familiarity with AI projects involving news and current events.
- Working across platforms (newsletter, social, audio, video).
- Experience in news apps
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,200 and $242,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
