Overview
The User Experience Design Lead establishes and drives adoption of processes and methodologies to achieve the UX Strategy. He or she identifies areas of need for design direction and thought leadership across product portfolios, and leads reviews with designers at key project milestones to steward projects into best‑in‑class experiences. Aligns a project with success by making sure the UX team drives innovation.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills role of User Experience Design Lead and User Experience Designer on teams, providing user‑driven design solutions, creating wireframes, use flows, prototypes, and producing high‑fidelity visual designs that meet project and strategic goals.
- Sets standards for design needs assessment for formative stages of projects. Sets standards for design language, collaboration processes, and tools amongst the UX team and within and across project teams. Contributes to formation of company UX strategy.
- Defines and tracks key behavioral analytics to clarify usability objectives and measure success.
- Ensures design solution approaches and major milestone deliverables align with company UX strategy and standards. Conducts reviews and approves design deliverables to maintain integrity of design language.
- Proactively identifies common UX elements across project teams and manages shared design solutions where appropriate.
- Provides feedback on work output to User Experience Designers and serves as a mentor on design standards, tools and processes.
- Identifies and escalates to management project deliverables that do not meet UX strategy and standards; and identifies project/team level resource issues that impact quality of UX delivered so that corrective actions can be planned and executed.
- Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the user experience function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Visual, Motion, Interaction, Information Architecture, HCI - Required
- 5 years of experience in Graphic design, interface design, or related.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $78,300 - $123,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
