Creative Talent Acquisition | PTR Global

We’re seeking a Senior Visual Designer to join the Customer Experience Design team at a leading global aviation company. In this role, you’ll craft stunning, user-centered designs that enhance digital experiences across multiple touchpoints, from web and mobile to in-flight entertainment platforms.

The ideal candidate is a visual design expert with a deep understanding of interaction, motion, and accessibility. You’ll bring creativity, precision, and collaboration to every phase of the design process, helping deliver cohesive, brand-aligned experiences that elevate the customer journey.

We are primarily seeking candidates in the Chicago area, though we’re also open to exceptional designers based in Central or Eastern U.S. time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Excellence: Develop visually engaging and brand‑compliant concepts for digital platforms, including responsive web, mobile applications, and seatback interfaces.
  • Interaction & Motion Design: Create immersive, interactive, and animated design solutions that enhance user engagement and bring concepts to life.
  • Prototyping: Build detailed mockups, wireframes, and high‑fidelity prototypes using Figma and related tools.
  • Collaboration: Partner with UX Designers, Product Managers, Editors, Developers, and other stakeholders to deliver unified, user‑centered solutions.
  • User‑Centric Iteration: Leverage user research and accessibility standards to refine designs, ensuring inclusive and optimal experiences across all devices.
  • Design Communication: Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders, providing rationale grounded in data, research, and best practices.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and feedback to junior designers within a collaborative, fast‑paced team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional UX or visual design experience.
  • Expertise in Figma and other design/prototyping tools.
  • Deep understanding of UI design principles, information architecture, and accessibility (WCAG).
  • Experience working on multi‑platform digital products (web, mobile, in‑flight, or similar environments).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex user and business needs into elegant, functional design solutions.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience designing for large‑scale consumer‑facing digital ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with design systems, responsive design frameworks, and cross‑functional collaboration workflows.
  • Comfortable leading projects from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL, or Remote Candidates in Central or Eastern U.S. time zones
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: 9 AM – 5 PM Central Time, 1 day/week onsite if local to Chicago
  • Duration: Long‑term Contract (1 year with high likelihood of extension or full‑time conversion)
  • Travel: Minimal; occasional travel for workshops or project needs (reimbursed).
  • Interview Process: Two video interviews with senior design leadership. A portfolio is required for consideration.
  • Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (no H‑1B, no C2C)
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) after 60 days, plus applicable PTO and sick leave per state/local law
