We are looking for an experienced, design-minded product engineer to join the Cloudflare Dashboard Experience team. This hybrid role bridges the gap between product engineering and design engineering, requiring both deep technical expertise and a keen eye for design details. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large-scale applications, a strong foundation in system design, and the ability to translate design vision into polished, performant code. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and systems engineers to build scalable developer experiences across our dashboard. You must care deeply about code quality, customer experience, and the craft of building beautiful, functional interfaces. We primarily use TypeScript and React.

About The Department

The Cloudflare Dashboard team is a critical part of Cloudflare’s Control Plane Product and has the following areas of focus:

  • Build a cohesive, delightful, and self-serviceable user journey through the Cloudflare Customer Dashboard for every single user—across all plans, all personas, all roles.
  • Aim to provide a product that will allow Cloudflare to experience the next level of growth, where users can adopt, onboard, and expand their product and feature usage through the dashboard alone, without going through a human Cloudflare representative.
  • Tackle cross-cutting concerns that product teams must manage alongside their feature work and timelines. All this helps us to:
  • Increase developer productivity.
  • Improve code quality.
  • Enhance application performance and security.

Role Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced, design-minded product engineer to join the Cloudflare Dashboard Experience team. This hybrid role bridges the gap between product engineering and design engineering, requiring both deep technical expertise and a keen eye for design details. You will:

  • Own your code from inception to release, balancing engineering excellence with visual aesthetics.
  • Architect scalable frontend solutions, collaborate in design explorations, develop new components and interactions, polish UI details, or improve developer productivity through better tooling and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and systems engineers to build scalable developer experiences across the dashboard.
  • Care deeply about code quality, customer experience, and the craft of building beautiful, functional interfaces.
  • Work with TypeScript and React; expect to interact with a variety of languages and technologies.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience building web applications
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Expertise with TypeScript
  • Extensive knowledge of the JavaScript ecosystem
  • Experience with build pipelines, artifact management, error management
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with product and design teams
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Unit/integration testing experience
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Working knowledge of internationalization, localization, and/or accessibility
  • Bonus: Experience with micro-frontend applications

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $137,000 - $167,000
  • This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
