Department Summary

The Department of Communication Studies cultivates communication scholarship and practice from various perspectives to foster creative, self‑reflective, and engaged leaders. We study human communication. Students master communication skills, research communication theories, and prepare for a variety of careers. UNT is highly diverse; we encourage candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or Yoruba.

Position Overview

Courses will vary each semester based on department teaching needs. Adjunct instructors create syllabi and assignments, deliver courses, assess student performance, and provide timely feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

MA or MS in Communication Studies or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience in Communication Studies or a related field. A terminal degree in the discipline is preferred.
