Job Title
Marketing Director (Full‑Time)
Job Purpose
This position serves as the principal marketing and communications staff member. The Director of Marketing is responsible for the management of daily marketing operations, including print and digital ads, press release and broadcast advertising copywriting, and program and brochure development. The position reports to the Executive Director.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Management (30%)
- Lead all external marketing and communications.
- Develop the overall marketing and communications plan for the organization, including public relations strategies.
Graphic Design (20%)
- Develop THELMA branding, including events and series, fundraising initiatives, and document and website style guides.
- Design and produce print and digital ads, programs, mailers, and logo/branded items.
Copywriting (20%)
- Write, edit, and manage production of printed materials, such as member newsletter/magazine, event programs and playbills, brochures, etc.
- Write press release and broadcast marketing copy.
Web Management (20%)
- Design, update, and manage the THELMA website and social media accounts.
General
- Contribute to a supportive, collaborative, and positive working environment.
- Communicate effectively with administrative and event staff to ensure smooth operations, including proficient use of office tools and technology.
- Other duties as assigned. THELMA employs an “All Hands on Deck” policy for large events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in marketing, or equivalent education or experience is required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with increasing responsibility in marketing and communication of events, exhibits, performances, etc. in an organization where the experience will translate to this non‑profit.
- Proficient with computer software, e.g. Microsoft Office, Canva, Photoshop.
- Proven communications ability both verbal and written.
- Demonstratable experience in website management, use of social media, etc.
- Significant customer service experience.
- Valid and in good‑standing driver’s license.

- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
