Senior Designer
The Senior Designer is responsible for leading all design phases for interior projects, establishing the vision, leading the team, and maintaining extensive client interaction.
Responsibilities
Develop overall design for projects.
Direct staff to complete design and technical drawings.
Review design and technical drawings of junior designers.
Review engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design solutions.
Work with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawings.
Research and select fixtures and finishes for projects.
Obtain client approval and ensure integration into overall design.
Produce, review, and finalize space plans for projects.
Possess extensive knowledge of detailing and finalize details on projects.
Develop and deliver overall design and furniture packages.
Review and produce final cost estimates.
Assist with support for field surveys in unusual circumstances.
Manage overall design budget.
Ensure adherence to set budget and inform PM and/or client of any potential variances.
Manage the work of other designers.
Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work products.
Organize and conduct client interviews to determine space needs and requirements.
Continue to provide needed information to clients on design specifications.
Essential Skills
8+ years’ experience in corporate interior design projects.
Extensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics.
Proficiency in space planning and furniture layout concepts.
Expert sketching and rendering skills.
Expert interior architecture detailing skills.
Extensive knowledge of construction documents and procedures.
Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements.
Extensive knowledge of contract administration.
Intermediate MS Office Suite skills.
Advanced Revit skills.
Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills.
Extensive presentation and graphic communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
Work Environment Located in the Loop, right across from Millennium Park/Art Institute, with 22 offices across the US. The schedule includes 3 days in the office (Monday and Wednesday are mandatory, with one other day of choice) and 2 days remote. The office size is 37, with teams focused on design, technical aspects, and graphic design. Main project types include Workplace, Retail, and Hospitality, with a focus on Corporate Workplace Interiors in Chicago. Education support includes reimbursement for passed licensure exams and study groups.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
