PROP is seeking a detail‑oriented, mission‑driven professional to support the execution of fundraising, marketing, and community engagement activities.

Reporting to the Director of Development & Communications, the Development & Communications Coordinator plays a critical role in carrying out day‑to‑day tasks that bring PROP’s mission to life—from donor communications and social media content to event coordination and campaign execution.

This is a hands‑on position ideal for a self‑starter who takes initiative, enjoys juggling multiple projects, and finds satisfaction in getting things done.

PROP Food Shelf is a nonprofit that has been caring for our neighbors in need for 54 years. Today, we help 1,500 Eden Prairie and Chanhassen families in financial distress meet their basic needs while providing additional services to help them on a path toward self‑sufficiency. PROP strengthens the community through their food shelf, housing & emergency financial assistance, employment counseling, and other services.

Experience and Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field.

2–4 years of professional experience in communications, development, or administrative support (nonprofit preferred).

Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM or donor databases (Kindful, Bloomerang, Salesforce, or similar).

Experience using Canva, Constant Contact, WordPress, and social media scheduling tools.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Positive, can‑do attitude with a passion for teamwork and PROP’s mission.

Key Responsibilities: Fundraising & Donor Support

Implement fundraising campaigns and appeals designed by the Director of Development and Communications

Prepare, proofread, and send donor acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.

Manage donor and sponsor data entry and reporting in PROP’s CRM system.

Assist in preparing and distributing donor stewardship materials, including certificates, event invitations, and impact updates.

Track gifts, pledges, and sponsorship deliverables.

Coordinate logistics for donor tours, appreciation events, and community drives.

Marketing & Communications Execution

Create and schedule social media posts following provided content calendars and campaign guidelines.

Draft short‑form copy for posts, emails, and flyers that align with PROP’s messaging and tone.

Design and format materials in Canva (flyers, digital graphics, postcards) using established brand templates.

Maintain and update PROP’s website content, campaign pages, and event listings.

Distribute press releases, media advisories, and newsletters through Constant Contact or similar platforms.

Maintain organized photo, video, and story libraries for future campaigns.

Community Engagement & Event Support

Coordinate volunteer, community, and partner engagement logistics for events and donation drives.

Represent PROP at select community events, business fairs, or faith‑based gatherings as assigned.

Prepare event materials (signage, nametags, flyers, certificates) and manage event setup/tear‑down.

Support corporate and faith community partnership activities, including in‑kind donation tracking and acknowledgments.

Administrative & Operational Support

Maintain organized department files, including campaign assets, vendor invoices, and reports.

Assist with budget tracking and vendor coordination (printers, photographers, designers, etc.).

Manage shared calendars and project timelines to ensure deliverables meet deadlines.

Support measurement and reporting by collecting campaign metrics, engagement analytics, and event attendance.

Provide administrative support for meetings, committees, and staff collaboration.

Physical Requirements This position works in an administrative office environment that is ADA compliant. Office hours are generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with scheduling adjustments and some evening and weekend hours required to accommodate program and event fulfillment. Qualified candidates must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time; the person in this position must operate a computer keyboard and other office machinery, such as a copy machine, printer, and telephone. The person in this position frequently communicates with staff and vendors and must exchange accurate information verbally, in writing, and by phone.
