Molder Designer Intern
As a Molder Designer Intern, you'll work closely with experienced engineers and designers to support the development of injection molds, die-cast tooling, and other precision components. You'll gain hands-on experience in CAD modeling, design validation, and manufacturing collaboration while contributing to real-world projects. Primary Duties Assist in the design and modification of mold components using SolidWorks Will use 3D printing capabilities, knowledge helpful but not required Support mold flow analysis and design-for-manufacturability reviews Collaborate with tooling engineers and machinists to ensure design feasibility Help create detailed drawings and documentation for mold fabrication Research materials, tolerances, and cooling strategies to optimize mold performance OE/Lean Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving. Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technician, Tool Design, or related field Familiarity with CAD software and engineering drawing standards Understanding of injection molding or die-casting processes is a plus Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and/or part of a team. Ability to display original thinking and creativity. Ability to hold oneself in a professional manner. Must have the ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, work at various heights above the ground, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, twist, lift, climb, push and pull to evaluate equipment in a production environment. Work Conditions:
Manufacturing facility. Plant process areas contain ladders, walkways, tight places, confined spaces, uneven terrain, and stairs, both inside and outside. Work Hours:
As agreed upon, based on intern availability and business needs. Safety Training:
A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system. Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee's position. Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
