The Video Apps team is looking for a QA Manager that has experience with video/audio, compression technologies and plugin infrastructure to contribute to the production of innovative applications for creative professionals, video makers and visual storytellers. It requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical and analytic skills and passion for new technologies related to visual storytelling.
Description
- The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, people management, a desire to help shape the product roadmap and have a keen eye for the user experience.
- Your experience with video, compression technologies and 3rd‑party plugin integration(s) will help you to produce a clear and concise picture of product quality for the project, from concept to product release.
- You will be responsible for planning and driving execution of testing for multiple simultaneous development initiatives.
- Your ability to work closely with development teams, to identify and understand key features and their underlying functionality, will be the key to your success.
- Balancing a wide variety of deliverables that will rely on your talent for managing priorities and communicating progress/risks effectively and systematically.
- You will be working closely with other QA and engineering team members to help coordinate cross‑functional test efforts.
- Your capacity for defining, hiring, and developing a world‑class QA team is vital.
- Your ongoing curiosity and dedication to self‑education in video and/or photo technologies as well as new testing techniques is what will set you apart. You will be working closely with other team members to help coordinate multi‑functional test efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant management experience with 7+ years as a Software QA/QE manager
- Established pattern of building strong teams—attracting, hiring, motivating, and retaining the best engineers
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, QA terminology and processes
- Proficient at balancing multiple efforts simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines
- Persistent and inquisitive problem solver, committed to driving quality forward
- Superior organizational and communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal) including the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non‑technical audience. Ability to work well with all levels of engineers, managers, project managers, and designers
- Experience developing automation processes and roadmaps using Python, Swift, or equivalent programming languages
- Experience in developing comprehensive test strategies for API testing and automation.
- Extensive experience testing mobile and desktop applications, frameworks and/or plugins.
- BS in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in video and/or photo editing processes and tools
- Automation planning, execution, and triage for projects on iOS and macOS
- iOS and macOS familiarity
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $198,300 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
