What You Will Be Doing As a Co-op,you willassistinstudio projects as well as producea personal project which will be developed alongside the team.You will get hands on experience workingwithengineers and Digital Surface Modelersto get a feel for what productdevelopmentcycletruly means. You will work alongside designers,chiefs,and our design director and receive weekly feedback to keep you on trackofthe development of your projectswhich you will present at the end of your internship. Our goal isto helpbringyourfresh ideastoahigh levelof maturitywithsomeofour ongoing projectsandfor you to leave with apersonalproject that encompasses yourexperience here at MackTrucks. You will reportdirectly to Senior designer and Chief designerwhichwill guide you onaday-to-daybasis.You will be asked to show how you go fromideas, tosketchesto 3D throughstorytelling, moodboards,and sketches.You will be measured on howyou solve everyday problems to how you solve futureproblemsnot yet being faced in traditional truck development.

Responsibilities

Contribute to ongoing projects at every stage of the design process

Develop and push every part with Mack aesthetic and brand in mind with use of inspiration

Push the boundaries of traditional truck design to a brighter more daring future

Providenew ideasthat challenge traditional forms of manufacturing

Present all work to team on a weekly basis and join in givingconstructivefeedback

Who You Are You are aTransportation Design studentthatisprepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge inallaspects ofIndustrial Design.GTT’svalues collaboration and life-long learning and ourgoal is to contribute toyourdevelopmentwhileprovidingyouan opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry.You willreport toSenior Exterior Designer.

Required

Must beenrolled and pursuing a degree inTransportation/Product Designat an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

Co-ops are not enrolled in academic courses during their co-op rotation and may work up to40 hoursper week

Presentation and communication skills, fluent in English

Hourly Compensation and Benefits At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
