Your Opportunity We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join the Integrated Design team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector, ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world. This role offers a chance to focus on technical growth while becoming part of a diverse team.
Your Key Responsibilities
Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate contract drawings, sketches, and concept design through to construction.
Collaborate with Mechanical group members, other Stantec disciplines and clients to achieve project success.
Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
Prepare P&ID and Flow Diagrams.
Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
Prepare drawings using AutoCAD, Plant3D, Cadworx, Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, Aveva E3D, MicroStation, etc.
3D model and design piping and mechanical systems.
Collect and verify data in client facilities.
Prepare isometric drawings.
Represent the field and interpret drawings.
Your Capabilities And Credentials
At least 1–3 years of experience in the industrial consulting industry.
Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
Strong collaborative skills working with single or multi‑discipline teams.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Understanding of Stantec’s Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program, with a focus on field safety.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Access) is an asset.
Ability to work in an environment of constantly changing technology and project assignments.
Education And Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 1–3 years of experience.
Typical office environment: working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.

Pay Range
Locations in MN, OH, VT, & various CA, NY areas – Min Salary $49,700.00 – Max Salary $67,100.00.
Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ areas – Min Salary $54,700.00 – Max Salary $73,800.00.
Locations in WA, DC & various CA, MA areas – Min Salary $58,600.00 – Max Salary $79,200.00.
Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec, certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid family leave. Regular full‑time and part‑time employees will receive ten paid holidays each calendar year. Employees will also accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and be eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law). Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
