General Summary
Under the general supervision of the Multimedia Supervisor or assigned Department Head, performs technical and creative work to support the inspiration, planning and implementation of multimedia services and programs in the operation of innovation and connected learning environments at a branch library.
Description of hours and wages
Pay range: $30.95 to $41.47 per hour. Part‑time (19 hours per week), FLSA non‑exempt. Employees are eligible for annual merit and COLA increases per District policy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Multimedia Operations Support: Supports the efficient operation of multimedia services, inspires customers to create, explore, collaborate, and plan for the future through hands‑on projects, schedules and instructs customers on equipment and software, compiles data, supports volunteer mentors, and maintains a welcoming learning environment.
Technical Support and Training: Maintains electronic equipment and related technology, performs setup, troubleshooting, updates, and repairs, conducts training sessions for customers and staff, provides equipment recommendations, and utilizes a range of electronic devices and software for audio/video and production.
Program and Promotional Support: Assists with development, implementation, and promotion of services, programs, and activities, manages a calendar of events, and provides tours of innovation spaces for teachers, students, and community groups.
Customer Service and Communication: Provides exceptional internal and external service, interacts in person, by telephone, and electronically, maintains positive communication across library staff and partners, and responds to inquiries promptly.
Community Impact: Conducts outreach to diverse youth, parents, teachers, and community members, promotes innovation and connected learning, and encourages greater patronage through outreach visits and collaborations.
Professional Development: Stays abreast of trends, attends training and meetings, shares ideas across networks, and participates in committee work as needed.
Other Responsibilities: Provides reference and library services, maintains compliance with policies, operates office equipment, and supports the overall mission by demonstrating courteous behavior when interacting with the public and staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required: Expertise in graphic design software, music and video production tools, sound isolation, DJ hardware/software, chroma panels, photography, 360° video, Microsoft and Apple products, STEAM background, social media proficiency, and public contact experience or equivalent training.
Education
Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience
Required: Experience with the software and equipment listed under Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, along with retail or public contact experience or equivalent combination.
Preferred: None specified.
License and Certification
Continued employment contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status.
AED/CPR certification within six (6) months of employment.
Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in a technical environment, use standard office equipment, and specialized technical equipment; stamina to sit or stand for extended periods; strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; vision to read digital displays and printed materials; and hearing and speech for communication. Work is subject to travel.
