Senior Design Systems Designer

What You'll Do
Partner with product designers, engineers, and product managers to evolve and scale Canopy's design system and component libraries.
Define and document design tokens, components, and patterns to ensure consistency across web and mobile platforms.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure design system components are performant, accessible, and production‑ready.
Audit existing experiences and identify opportunities to unify, simplify, and standardize design patterns.
Establish design operations practices that improve the efficiency and consistency of the UX team.
Drive adoption of the design system across product teams by providing guidance, training, and documentation.
Contribute to accessibility standards, ensuring that our experiences meet WCAG guidelines and inclusive design best practices.
Support designers across the organization by coaching them on how to leverage system assets effectively.
Collaborate with UX leadership to evolve processes, rituals, and tools that improve how we design, test, and deliver experiences.
Seek input and feedback from stakeholders across product, engineering, design, marketing, and customer support to ensure the design system and operations meet broad organizational needs.
What You'll Need
5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or a related role, with at least 2+ years focused on design systems.
Experience working in B2B SaaS.
Strong experience designing, documenting, and maintaining design systems for web and/or mobile products.
Deep understanding of cross‑platform design patterns, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design operations tooling (e.g., Storybook, Code Connect, Zeroheight, Tokens Studio, Jira, Notion).
Demonstrated ability to partner closely with engineers on component libraries.
Portfolio of work showing direct contributions to a design system and its adoption across teams.
Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to guide and mentor other designers.
Analytical and systems‑thinking mindset with attention to detail.
Positive, collaborative, and pragmatic attitude.
A passion for building scalable, user‑centered systems that empower both customers and teams.

20‑minute phone call with the People Team.
45‑60‑minute video or in‑person interview with the hiring manager.
1–3 rounds of interviews, depending on the role.
Final interview.
