Mechanical Designer / Detailer (Contract Opportunity) We’re seeking a Mechanical Designer/Detailer with strong experience in mechanical engineering, design, and detailing to support new equipment builds, machine rebuilds, and parts replacement projects within the paper manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to mechanical design projects from concept through manufacturing, using your SolidWorks expertise to bring precision and innovation to complex machinery. What You’ll Do Create mechanical designs, detailed manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) for new and existing equipment. Collaborate with engineers and project leads to translate design concepts and verbal directions into accurate, manufacturable models. Apply drafting standards to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables. Use your manufacturing knowledge to confirm accurate dimensions, tolerances, and assembly requirements. Interpret and update design layouts to produce clear, detailed fabrication and assembly drawings. What We’re Looking For Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design, or Drafting (or equivalent hands‑on experience). 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, detailing, and BOM creation. Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D design software — must demonstrate advanced modeling and detailing skills. Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, including machine shop operations. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications. Experience designing or detailing paper manufacturing machinery is a plus.
