We are currently seeking a passionate, service‑minded individual to join our team as a Part‑Time Library Event Attendant.
Under the direction of the Creative Events Coordinator, the purpose of the Part‑Time Event Attendant is to ensure accurate setup of all room rentals, including moving tables and chairs, room breakdown and cleanup, as well as light janitorial work. The position supports all rentals and reservations occurring within the library, including working most weekend rentals. It also provides marketing assistance to promote and increase rental usage at the library.
This is a part‑time position, working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule will vary, based on event needs, and will include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner; provides tours of the Library event space.
- Prepares reservation contracts, takes payments for reservations, and handles setup and breakdown of rooms; ensures accuracy on contracts, payments, and reports.
- Assists the coordination of the internal and external schedule of events, including special events as needed; frequently checks weekly rental schedule.
- Provides information to the public about Library facilities, specifically focusing on facility rentals.
- Reports needed repairs and cleanliness of the Library event space to supervisor and/or custodial staff.
- Assists with Library essential functions as assigned.
- Maintains regular attendance, including flexible availability: opening, closing, weekends, rotating shifts, special events, and holidays if needed.
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency required.
- No experience required; however, at least six months of experience in a reservation/rental/special event position, or closely related field, is preferred.
- Ability to obtain, within six (6) months of hire, a Valid Texas Class C Driver's License, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
