The Brand Director will play an integral role in researching, developing, designing, and implementing key projects and initiatives. The Brand Director will lead the account management for a variety of beauty and wellness clients and serve as the first‑line contact to those clients. The Brand Director will be responsible for overseeing up to 10 assigned retainer accounts and projects at a time and will work collaboratively with Brand management to drive division and client priorities. This position currently operates on a hybrid schedule.
ESSENTIAL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee assigned accounts and account teams
Serve as first‑line contact to clients
Actively pitch and secure media coverage on behalf of beauty and wellness clients on a local, regional, national and international level
Write, proof and edit a variety of PR and marketing materials, while contributing as a core team member on client accounts
Develop compelling stories and draft compelling narratives on behalf of clients
Lead client programs and campaigns from planning to execution within the specified budget
Develop and execute compelling VIP and influencer strategies, with tangible results
Collaborate with different divisions across the agency to ensure the client is getting access to the agency’s network‑wide expertise
Deliver strong media and influencer coverage consistently producing high quality internal and external communications content
Lead divisional projects as assigned
Keep Brand management abreast with regular check‑ins of account activities inclusive of staffing needs, existing and upcoming activations, account travel requirements, etc.
Have solid connections with leading and emerging beauty and wellness editorial talents globally
Achieve exceptional outcomes for current clients and manage an extended portfolio ensuring consistency of service is delivered in line with company practices
Develop press relationships and manage contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople, and sector influencers
Other duties, projects and accounts may be assigned at management’s sole discretion
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE
10+ years of PR agency experience (experience with worldwide markets is a plus)
Proven track record of success landing media placements
Established and demonstrable network of editors, journalists, stylists, and industry figures in fashion, arts, lifestyle, entertainment, and culture (personal and professional relationships are a must)
Keen networker, adept at building relationships with key influencers and industry spokespeople
Proven ability to present complex industry information to target audiences
Excellent project management skills with strong organizational and planning skills
Strong negotiation and delegation skills
Business acumen with the ability to communicate across departments and represent PR within the business
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, start‑up environment
Exceptional relationship‑building skills, collaborative, able to work well with others
Knowledgeable on multiple reporting and database platforms including Launchmetrics, MeltWater, Lefty, Muck Rack, and more

ESSENTIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard business hours: 9:30am - 6:30pm in the NY office and 9am - 6pm in the LA office; evening and weekend will be required from time to time
In‑office requirements: Account Directors will be required to work in the Lede office a minimum of 3 days a week
Business travel: 15% - 20%
