Job Summary

Tutor WSU students in Computer Science at the Davis Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on a drop-in basis. Availability for drop-in shifts is determined by the tutor. We require and provide training in tutoring techniques.

Pay Grade: Salary – Hourly Pay Rate: $14.50

Responsibilities

• Tutor WSU students in Computer Science at the Davis Learning Center on a drop-in basis.

• Determine and maintain availability for drop-in shifts.

• Participate in training on tutoring techniques.

Pool Information

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a WSU student in good academic standing.
  • Faculty recommendation or endorsement.
  • Must be able to tutor at the Davis Campus.
  • Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
  • A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
  • Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to tutor many different courses.
