About the job Google's software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. We are looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking, data storage, security, AI, NLP, UI design, and mobile. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our fast‑paced business evolves.
The YouTube Ads Creative Optimization (YACO) team revolutionizes YouTube Ads through Machine Learning and Generative AI. Our mission is to empower advertisers with creative improvement solutions that automatically generate and optimize high‑performing ad creatives. You will work with cross‑functional teams and have a direct, measurable impact on Google’s business and its advertisers.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $141,000‑$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
1 year of experience in one of the following areas: Speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or another ML field.
1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience in deep learning, NLP, computer vision (especially for video content analysis), or large language models.
Responsibilities
Write product or system development code.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain standards.
Contribute to documentation and educational content, adapting it to product updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues, debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact.
Implement solutions in specialized ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model improvement and data processing.
