Role Description Arcadis is looking for a
Senior Water Design Manager
to join our Resilience Water Team. The role requires 10 or more years of experience planning, design, and/or construction of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure, including treatment plants and pump stations.
As the Senior Water Design Manager, you will leverage technical expertise to lead municipal water/wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects across Florida. The position offers significant growth opportunities, supervising technical delivery and building strong client relationships.
Role Accountabilities
Lead the technical execution of pump station projects and provide technical leadership to the team.
Serve as lead designer and/or design manager for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, and hydraulic structures.
Develop layout plans, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and contract drawings and specifications.
Exercise engineering judgement to devise solutions to complex infrastructure challenges.
Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams from schematic design through construction.
Serve as a technical resource for the region and mentor junior engineers.
Perform quality assurance and control reviews of water infrastructure.
Establish and support client relationships, including marketing and pursuit efforts for pump stations.
Scope and budget water infrastructure projects.
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
10 years of pump station design experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Florida PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Key Skills and Attributes
Excellent technical engineering in design of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
Strong written and oral communication and technical writing skills.
Experience managing preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
Client relationship skills and proven ability to deliver engineering projects within client expectations.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of experience; Master’s degree or MBA.
Experience with large and complex water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
Experience with complex pumping systems such as diesel‑driven pumps and familiarity with pump station design standards.
Experience with key clients in South Florida.
