About WUSA-TV Washington WUSA-TV Washington, the TEGNA‑owned CBS affiliate in Washington, is seeking an innovative Senior Producer to shape our daily newscasts.

We build creative shows that engage, educate and inform audiences.

We prioritize original storytelling and investigative journalism to set our product apart in the Washington market.

Responsibilities

Use natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories.

Inspire and motivate a team while leading by example.

Guide editorial decision‑making as a leader in the newsroom.

Push our shows to be filled with context and stand out from the competition.

Show off creativity and storytelling skills.

Craft stories of all lengths on all platforms for specific audiences.

Meet daily deadlines.

Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video, and emotional sound to create an engaging experience.

Booth continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and community events.

Consistently try new things after thoughtful discussion with supervisors.

Allow impactful and emotional conversations the community needs to drive content.

Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show.

Challenge traditional ways of doing things.

Ensure all communities and viewpoints have a voice and presence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related fields, or equivalent experience.

5–7 years of news content experience.

Top‑notch communication skills.

Solid journalistic judgment and a news philosophy emphasizing accurate, fair, and unique local content, and community engagement.

Understanding of professional journalism tenets.

Skills in producing engaging, content‑driven newscasts and digital content.

Strong social media skills, including an active presence on preferred platforms.

Organizational skills and ability to work under time‑pressure deadlines.

Ability to calmly handle live, breaking‑news situations and changing events.

Experience with ENPS and Edius systems preferred.

Pay Range $38 – $42.40 USD per hour.
