This is an on-site and in-person position. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Position Overview As a Kitchen and Bath Designer at Synergy Builders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the client experience and bringing their home remodeling dreams to life. You'll be responsible for transforming client needs and visions into functional, stunning spaces-managing projects from initial concept through final completion. This includes designing cabinet layouts, selecting materials and finishes, and maintaining clear, thoughtful communication with clients throughout the process. Leveraging tools like Chief Architect, you'll collaborate closely with homeowners, vendors, and our internal team to ensure each project is executed with precision, creativity, and care.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Project Developers and clients to understand project goals and design preferences

Lead client meetings in the showroom to select products, finishes, and colors

Create as-built and conceptual drawings using Chief Architect

Conduct job site measurements and attend off-site selection meetings

Design and layout cabinetry using CAD software

Create 3D and interactive design representations using Chief Architect

Document selections and project details using internal forms and Builder Trend

Coordinate with vendors for estimates and provide information for project estimating

Consult with architects, engineers, and interior designers as needed

Participate in pre-construction, contract, and mid-job meetings

Prepare and administer contracts, addendums, and maintenance manuals

Ability to discuss change orders and pricing

Monitor construction progress through periodic site visits

Stay current with design trends, materials, and product innovations

Provide ongoing feedback to the Project Developer throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications & Skills

Confident, client-focused approach to design

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure

Proficiency in Chief Architect (required)

Knowledge of remodeling processes and construction materials

Strong knowledge of interior and exterior building products

Understanding of municipal codes and permitting considerations

Creative, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset

Professional demeanor and presentation

Solid understanding of finish materials, labor costs, and custom cabinetry

Education & Experience

Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited organization, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum of 3 years of industry-related experience

CKBD Certification through NKBA preferred

Training & Continued Education

Ongoing training in design software, product knowledge, and industry trends

Maintain professional and technical knowledge through internal and external training programs and workshops

Participation in vendor presentations, team shadowing, and cross-department collaboration

Regularly review professional publications (e.g., KBB, Qualified Remodeler, Professional Remodeler)

Participate in professional societies such as NKBA

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Office-based mainly.

Requires mobility around the showroom.

Lifting product samples up to 25lbs.

Travel to client homes for consultations on as needed basis.

Collaborates daily with other departments.

Occasional travel to job sites and municipal offices.

Work Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Monday through Friday with occasional evenings or Saturdays as requested by clients.

Occasional weekend participation for home shows and special events.
