Position Description The School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi invites applications for one nine‑month tenure track assistant professor position of Integrated Marketing Communications starting August 2026.
We seek innovative candidates with a strong focus on research to help build the IMC undergraduate and graduate programs to be consistent with the University of Mississippi’s Carnegie R‑1 status. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda related to integrated marketing communications, including but not limited to strategic communication, public relations, or advertising. Candidates with proven research productivity and/or potential to secure research funding or awards will receive priority consideration. The candidate will maintain a steady stream of scholarly publications in their area of expertise and be expected to perform service to the school and university.
The successful candidate may be asked to teach a wide variety of IMC courses, including core courses like public relations or advertising principles, writing, research, and campaigns, as well as specialized courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is 2-3 and teaching responsibilities may include face‑to‑face or online courses.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in communication, public relations, advertising, or a related field. ABD will be considered.
