This is a remote-based role in the United States.
Purpose The Senior Director of Strategic Marketing & Insights leads a team of managers and collaborators, developing the global strategic marketing strategy for the Shockwave IVL coronary and peripheral product portfolio, building external relationships, and ensuring market insights drive positioning and portfolio marketing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee acquisition and analysis of global intelligence and insights from internal and external sources.
Evaluate IVL technologies’ value proposition, product positioning, messaging, and plan future opportunities.
Collaborate with R&D, medical affairs, and project management to initiate product bench, preclinical, and clinical testing.
Drive proactive and reactive marketing strategies, campaigns, and collateral in response to market dynamics.
Ensure the proficiency of the global sales force to seize IVL market leadership opportunities and effectively position IVL technologies.
Partner with downstream and upstream marketing on go‑to‑market strategies for new Shockwave IVL products, including portfolio prioritization, pricing, account targeting, segmentation, and sales support.
Provide input into product development programs, acting as executive sponsor for PDP initiatives and market research.
Assist communications in implementing competitive internal and external strategies.
Oversee directors, senior managers, and senior contributors, ensuring career development, coaching, and feedback.
Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, commercial operations, and cross‑functional teams to advise on strategic insights.
Manage operational aspects, including budget, performance, compliance, and workforce succession planning.
Align Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives with team strategies and goals.
Qualifications
BA or equivalent experience.
10‑12+ years of global marketing leadership in cardiovascular med‑tech.
Proven track record in product management/marketing, launching novel products and developing markets.
Strong command of clinical research in core IVL markets.
Ability to build successful partnerships with the sales force and key opinion leaders.
Agility to adapt strategies based on customer voice and emerging trends.
Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Travel ability of 30% or more may be required.
Preferred Requirements
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience with coronary, structural heart, or peripheral vascular technologies.
Salary The anticipated base pay range for this position is $221,000 to $299,000 (Bay Area: $254,150 to $343,850).
