The selected candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the Office’s Social Media accounts on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and any emerging social media site. Postings with appropriate graphics, announcements of upcoming events and highlights of all events will be publicized on the social media platforms. The position will upload and circulate all materials as appropriate via applicable and available electronic avenues. The position will automate data functions to assist the Outreach Liaison with the collection and maintenance of data related to recruitment visits and outcomes. S/he will create and manage the multiple databases that will be necessary to maintain all contacts, placements, opportunities and communications that will be the data backbone of the Office. The selected candidate will provide data & communications support which will assist the Director in defining and mining key metrics and preparing high level, data heavy reports.

Responsibilities Will Also Include But Not Limited To

Draft, post and assist agency divisions with social media postings

Resize photos for placement on social media and the web

Assist with the development of feature stories for the DCAS websites

Assist with maintenance of the Green Book online and production of the print Green Book

Attend agency events, photograph activities and draft recaps

Assist with the restructuring of the DCAS websites

Update content and provide maintenance assistance on the DCAS websites

Provide content and formatting for agency newsletter

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to above.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of social media content, scheduling and analytical software

Experience with Adobe software products including Photoshop, InDesign

Knowledge of html

Experience using the Microsoft suite

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent organizational skills

Professional demeanor when interacting with all levels of DCAS personnel

Level of comfort interfacing with senior management, executive leadership and key stakeholders

Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
