The Texas Talent Accelerator, launched by the University of North Texas, is a strategic regional initiative designed to address the evolving workforce needs of the rapidly growing North Texas region. As part of a collaborative network of employers, educational institutions, and economic development partners, the Accelerator works to align talent development with industry demands, foster innovation, and strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness. Located in one of the nation’s most dynamic business corridors, this initiative plays a critical role in shaping the future of workforce readiness and regional prosperity. Professionals joining this effort will contribute to impactful, system-wide solutions that support economic growth and improve career outcomes across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Position Overview
The Communications Specialist translates complex workforce research into clear, compelling narratives through reports, digital content and communication products. Reporting to the Director, Texas Talent Accelerator, this role ensures the Accelerator’s partners are seeing and engaging with the output produced by the accelerator. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of experience in writing and/or editing publications; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to conceptualize, write and edit strategic content for university audiences. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, conduct multiple tasks and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to coordinate large projects with numerous components. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to visually inspect print and digital copy including experience in creative editing and fact checking techniques. Ability to work effectively on a team with staff, faculty and students toward a common goal. Extensive knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation and Associated Press and Chicago Manual styles. Knowledge of writing styles and guidelines for various media formats and ability to create, coordinate and edit copy for each format (print, digital/social media, video, broadcast, etc.). Understanding of institutional strategy (or ability to quickly assimilate) and ability to integrate strategy into modes of communication. Ability to supervise and/or coordinate the work of others. Knowledge of and ability to research industry best practices to assist in aligning strategies for publications with University strategy and guidelines and effectively edit and improve content for readers based on best practices. Preferred Qualifications
Communicating with others to exchange information. Required License/Registration/Certifications

Develop communication products including reports, presentations, and digital content. Collaborate with researchers to ensure findings are accurately and effectively presented. Manage dissemination strategies to ensure research reaches intended audiences. Support the Texas Talent Accelerator's positioning as a national leader in workforce research through thought leadership content. Physical Requirements
