Job Summary The Communications Manager will lead the strategic direction and day‑to‑day delivery of Razom Health’s communications, shaping the program’s public voice and amplifying its presence across the U.S., Ukraine, and the global health community. The role oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of a cohesive communications approach that connects audiences to Razom Health’s work, builds lasting relationships, and drives participation in key initiatives. Core responsibilities include strategy development, content creation, visual storytelling, campaign management, media relations, and rapid‑response communications, as well as advising leadership on positioning and outreach opportunities.
Reports To Director of Communications
Primary Assignment Health portfolio, with priorities set in coordination with the Health Program Director
Responsibilities
Lead development and delivery of Razom Health’s communications strategies across digital, media, public channels, and signature events
Create and oversee compelling content, written, visual, and multimedia, for diverse audiences that informs, inspires, and mobilizes
Collaborate with program staff and partners in Ukraine to source stories, data, and visuals that reflect on‑ground realities and impact
Coordinate press and media activities, including interviews, press releases, and key messaging
Build and manage relationships with media, partners, community stakeholders, and advocacy networks to increase visibility and action
Manage content calendars, campaigns, and brand consistency across all platforms
Monitor and analyze communications performance, using insights to refine approaches
Provide strategic communications guidance to leadership, internal teams, and external implementing or institutional partners
Support crisis and rapid‑response communications during urgent health events
Support activities and campaigns that encourage direct engagement from communities, volunteers, and partner networks
Train spokespeople and field staff in media engagement, storytelling, and brand‑aligned communication, as needed
Support the organization and maintenance of Razom Health’s content library in Unify, ensuring all photo, video, and storytelling assets are properly archived, searchable, and accessible for cross‑team use
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Journalism, International Development, or a related field
5 years of experience in nonprofit or public health communications, digital media, or advocacy
Fluency in English
Excellent writing, editing, content creation and storytelling skills with experience translating technical information for general audiences
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Public Policy, or a related field
Fluency in Ukrainian
Experience in humanitarian or complex emergency contexts with a strong understanding of public health, crisis communication, and MEAL integration
Skilled in grants management, including proposal development, donor reporting, and compliance with visibility standards
Proficient in data‑driven storytelling using analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Data Studio, Power BI)
Advanced digital design and content production skills (Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, CapCut)
Established network in global health, humanitarian, or media sectors
Experience representing an organization externally at high‑level events and in media interviews
Experience capturing and editing high‑quality photo and video content
Familiarity with knowledge management systems for organizing communications assets
Experience planning, coordinating, and executing events from concept and logistics to implementation and follow‑up
