911 ECS (Emergency Communications Specialist) Multiple Positions Open

Overview Certification and pay structure for entry‑level and certified 911 ECS roles.

Entry Level ECS (no experience required) Full time with Benefits. $5,000 signing bonus. Starting pay for Trainee: $21.09 per hour.

Certified 911 ECS Fully certified with ETC, EMD, EPD and EFD. Two‑year contract with $2,000 immediate signing bonus (plus $1,500 after satisfactory completion of probation and $1,500 after two full years).

Responsibilities

Operate a fully enhanced 911 dispatch system for the Dorchester County 911 Center, providing law enforcement, fire, and EMS communications.

Work shift work as the Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays.

View the telephone number and address of where a call originates and maintain situational awareness.

Qualifications

For Certified ECS: current ETC, EMD, EPD, and EFD certifications; at least two years’ experience dispatching (preferred).

All positions require a complete background investigation, police/criminal record check, medical exam, drug screening, and possible psychological exam.

$5,000 signing bonus for entry level roles.

$2,000 immediate signing bonus for certified roles, with additional $1,500 bonuses at probation completion and after two years of service.
